You can't have your abortion and eat it too

Amnesty International clears up its abortion position:
Got that, folks? They're OK with abortion being illegal; it's just a problem once you enforce a law like that!
Hat tip: Andrew Sullivan. Sullivan adds, "Why they would want to keep this secret is beyond me." Must be the humiliating lack of intellectual consistency!
We take no position as to whether abortion is right or wrong, nor on its legalization generally. Instead our position is focused on three areas of concern: opposition to imprisonment or other criminal sanctions for women or providers of abortion...

Have you ever thought about just what abortion does, it kills potentially live little human beings, generally functioning well by the time they are aborted and it does take two to tango.
There's a HE there as well as a SHE, He never gets a mention.
I thing it is time people grew up and took these things more seriously.

I wrote about this decision some weeks ago.
AI went out of their way to keep their policy change quiet, only publicising it on the internal pages that required logins.
There was press release but it was their worst kept secret.
Not only does this create situations where confusing statements are made but alienates much of its support base.
The title is rough but does illustrate what is happening.

In reality most abortions happen before the first 3 months and after those 3 months if a woman wants to abort she is given heaps of counselling and whatnot (since the health dangers shoot up). If a woman lets it get that far odds are she's just getting worried about the baby and it has less to do with circumstances.
But yeah, I can't stand such thinly veiled hypocricies.
