Media and Think Tanks need to get to cause of our economic diseases before they can treat the effects
If we do not get into the cause of our economic mess, we are playing a useless game. See - The all in one Free Traders Party 0 Long Link
President Roosevelt said economic diseases are highly communicable. Today they are an epidemic of giant proportions. It is senseless trying to restore our economies if we ignore the major cause behind our economic crisis - free trade. Raw capitalism has made workers tools in a global economic arena. The real free market should serve workers. They are not tools of capital.
With physical diseases, doctors look for the causes before they think about treatment. Why do all the so called experts and new media channels ignore this fact. Donald Trump proposes a 25 percent tax on Chinese imports. This would solve more than our budget problems. This points to a major problem behind the fall of our economies and cities. However, this still does not get to the heart of the matter. All major media channels, our political leaders and educators do not tell it like it is. Free trade is the major cause of our economic crisis. Until this sinks in and we conclude that Thomas Friedman's Flat World is a fallacy, no talks about resolving the budget crisis in our state or nation will work. Only value added economies in localized settings work. They add about 5 to 7 levels of added value from the raw product stage to the end user or retail level. Governor Kasick of Ohio, led the way years ago. He is like a fox in charge of the chicken coop. He used free trade as a way to make money in the investment community. He joined hands with President Clinton and a Democrat controlled congress in the passing of NAFTA and GATT trade agreements based on moving our production outside of the U.S. trying to make money on money. Now our economies based on making money on money have burned out. President Obama's bail out of big money is only a temporary fix. As long as the real free enterprise system has been ransacked by free trade, nothing will work. Until then, the next thing coming are new economies going underground or above outside the box of our present system.
See our Communications by Rank Link We propose the following in order to survive. First, do away with the payroll tax since it is used like any other tax in the general fund. The payroll tax represents a flat tax on the working poor and blocks out local economies. We suggest a tap instead of a tax on all transactions- with a double tap on all imports. See Economy based on making money on money burning out -Time to think taps instead of taxes. See Real Tax Reform link
Cutting taxes and government jobs will not do much of anything. Governments need a flourishing economy to pay for all the services people needs. Free trade came and stole our economies away from us. The free enterprise system is on life support. A decent economy will only come when, we challenge free trade as the core of our economic and budget mess. We need real jobs in balanced geopolitical settings. Free trade does not do this and most likely never will.
If we let human nature get hooked on cheaper and cheaper prices, consumers will continue to shop their way out of their jobs. Free trade is a parasite that is devouring our middle class.
