The economic crisis follows years of experimentation with Free Trade and Globalization.
Rush Limbaugh, a false conservative, vigorously promoted the passage of both unfair NAFTA and GATT trade agreements as we noted at Rush Limbaugh could have saved the world
President Obama is also a Globalist Free Trader and has selected Gary Locke, a ardent Free Trader, to be his Secretary of Commerce. Both Limbaugh and Locke strongly supported President Clinton in the consummation of Free Trade. Locke joined with President Clinton in deals with China. Having Locke as Secretary of Commerce is like a slap in the face for workers and labor.
When all is said and done, Limbaugh and Obama are one and the same in the most important happening in our century - the betrayal of human dignity in the workday. This is hidden by political rhetoric that does not add up to much. It seems like both sides want the public to concentrate on political debate while someone is stealing the store. We have a new "ism" called Globalism. It has arrived without a portfolio as other "isms" have. There appears to be no philosophical background as there is with Communism and Totalitarianism. However, were are finding this "ism" includes the other "isms" in its process.
We wrote about [I] Human Nature on Trial here at TheRationale and we will again try to explore the common good that has been shredded by Globalization and Free Trade. We need to see what went wrong in our societies that allowed human dignity in the work day be thrashed by some strange idealogy without a name other than being called Globalism. We do know the tools, Globalism uses.
Globalism tools are Free Trade and Globalization. Both Limbaugh and President Obama are one in the same when it comes to the agreeing on the tools to be used in fostering this new "ism".
In our next post, we will try again to explore the common good knowing society is not a collection of just individual good. We are all interconnected and the economic crisis is all about ruptures in these connections. This new "ism" still goes unannounced as being part of our global economic crisis. It hides behind the masks people like Limbaugh and Obama put on. We do not need any conspiracy theories to know that Free Trade and Globalization have not evolved in any natural economic fashion but have been driven by powerful elite forces including people like Thomas Friedman in his Flat World. Unfortunately, even men of good will have been hooked into the process.
