Power over real choice - President Obama - Claims power over others rights to choose
President Obama should cancel visit to Notre Dame. Soon after getting into office, President Obama changed President Bush's executive order about allowing federal funds for abortions. In a stroke of a pen, he cancelled out the consciences of his fellow Americans who now have to pay taxes for abortion. There was no choice in the matter. Later he approved of using human embryos for stem cell research with a stroke of a pen outside of any real democratic process. Liberals talk about choice being a priority in what they stand for but ignore others the power to choose their right to life. How just one man can rule on life like this is also a contradiction of what liberalism is supposed to be all about.
He was invited to Notre Dame University to speak at their graduation ceremonies. He is is scheduled to speak and receive and honorary degree from the university. Obviously, a massive debate followed.
On MSNBC, there was a heated debate between top commentators Lawrence O'Donnell and Pat Buchana. O'Donnell demonstrated a complete misunderstanding about the standing of Catholic rationale in history. It is timeless. O'Donnell apparently does not understand the term "intrinsic evil" which has been an inherent part of Catholic philosophy based primarily on reason and not just on faith.
The term intrinsic evil is not something exclusive to Pat Buchanan's comments about abortion. The term is an integral part of Catholic philosophy based on reason and flows from the natural law. It describes a circumstance that is not dependent on any other external. It is evil within itself.
Proverbial wisdom teaches us God always forgives, man sometime forgives, but nature never forgives. There is an order of things the operates in our universe based on God's Perfect Love and the Natural Law. It keep churning and abstracting evil. It is not something that evolves since truth can not evole and is static power for all times. Abortion is intrinsic evil on its own outside the judgement call by anyone. It is the taking of innocent life. Pat Buchanan made that distinction in comparison to Capital punishment that may prompt a judgement call. President Obama used that option in allowing deadly force in the rescue operation in the recent piracy incident. A society has the right to defend itself just as a private person does. However, the taking of innocent babies does not fit this definition in any connotation.
Lawrence O'Donnell misses the essence of truth and provides just subjective conclusions not in sync with the natural law.
Catholics and others in the Christian world understand that much more happens in the conception of a human being. It is not something just related to matter. It is also involved with form - or the soul. At the time of conception a eternal soul is created that will dwell in the heart of God forever. Perhaps these souls will be given the power to judge those who stole their human existence away from them through abortion or stem cell research. President Obama not only allows the killing of human embryos that are currently in storage but also allows the production of new human embryos for stem cell research. In essence, he is for creating eternal souls who will never experience their destinies on earth.
Abortion and this kind of stem cell production is totally opposite of the natural law and the natural law will convict all who partake in this mass termination of life no matter what.

President Obama should cancel his trip to Notre Dame University and show he still can make a decent judgement call about such an important matter. And hopefully our article here will help him decide and be a long time reference for the natural law and the order of things.

Reportedly, President Obama will not use public funds to support the production of new embryonic human stem cells but nothing was reported about allowing private funds for this purpose. Apparently, Congress has to decide this issue. President Obama recinded President Bush executive order about federal funds for abortions and surplus emybryonic stem cell research.
However, President Obama has decreased public funds for adult stem cell research and as Senator Voinovich states, adult stem cell applications are the only type working now. See Senator Voinovich stem cell report at The Rationale
