The eye of our economic storms was years ago

The eye or our economic storms dates back to the 1990s
This letter was sent to President Clinton in 1998: Our economic crisis is not something new This is why we start exploring the latent response of religion and philosophy to the economic issues of our times.
" We the undersigned, ask the President and Congress to make a commitment to end hunger in America. To have 35 million people in our country going hungry, or unsure of when they will eat next, is a national disgrace. Hunger threatens our moral fabric and our future productivity. We call upon our leaders, on a bipartisan basis, to exercise the moral authority to end this shame and blight in our nation." This letter was sent to President Clinton from the Feinstein Foundation in Road Island

Success is being ableto file for social security before having to file for bankruptcy
This too was reported during the 1990s:
There is at least one-third unemployed or undereployed in the USA. It is impossible to compare the unemployment rate with the past when most jobs were full-time permanent jobs with benefits. Part time jobs were not even part of the reports. Now ( 1998 ) , even a 10 hour a week job with a take home pay of only $50, with no benefits what so ever, is reported as a job. Many of these part times are workers who have up to four of these jobs at a time. The unemployment reporting did not tie together the number of jobs relating to one worker or if these jobs assumed there were 4 workers instead of just one. In recent years, temporary, part-time, contract, independent workers and leased workers have grown tenfold without any real reporting of all the statistics related to this vast dislocation of workers. When these workers lose their jobs, there is no way of keeping track of the losses. In a major city like Cleveland in Ohio, where there were only a few temporary help offices in the past, there are now more than 250 temporary help offices listed in the phone book. The unlisted casual labor offices are add even more.
Many workers are missing in action from any kind of reporting and these invisible unemployed are living in a silent depression.
This report comes from the 1990s when President Clinton was proclaiming statiiscl prosperity. President Bush followed and did not correct the statistics. Now President Obama follows President Bush and says he inherited all the problems but never tells about what he was doing or thinking about any of this ten years ago.
And so it goes in the global economic arena where many have suffered for years without any help. President Clinton in the passing of NAFTA and GATT, promised that all who lost their jobs due to these free trade agreements would get help. They never did and today they are mute issues as President Obama marries big government to big money.
